Qualifications and document checks
FindMyTrader asks tradespeople for trade documents where their work calls for them. It does not identity-check, insure or vet every person who registers. A reviewed document is not a guarantee of workmanship, and it does not mean FindMyTrader employs the tradesperson or carries out the job.
You can register and browse jobs without uploading documents. Uploading a file does not by itself mean it has been accepted. An admin reviews what was sent.
Documents a tradesperson can add
From a tradesperson profile, the form accepts a PDF, JPG or PNG up to 10 MB, with a registration or reference number. The form does not ask for a general identity document or an insurance certificate.
- Gas Safe registration. Requested for gas work in Great Britain. It does not cover oil-fired work.
- Electrical competence evidence. Optional evidence of an electrical competence scheme or another accepted route.
- F-Gas certification. Optional evidence for work with fluorinated gases.
- HETAS registration. Optional evidence for solid-fuel appliances such as stoves and fireplaces.
- OFTEC registration. Optional evidence for oil-fired heating. It is separate from Gas Safe registration.
- MCS certification. Optional evidence for small-scale renewable energy work.
- Architects Registration Board (ARB). Optional evidence for someone on the Architects Register. It is not a tree-surgery qualification.
Documents submitted by tradespeople are reviewed by our admin team. Please agree the work details, price and timing directly with your tradesperson.
