Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 18 September 2026
Welcome to FindMyTrader. These Terms explain how our website and apps work, and what we ask of customers and tradespeople. We have written them in plain language so they are easier to follow. Please read them before you use FindMyTrader.
Your privacy and safety matter to FindMyTrader. The full Terms below still apply, including important rights, responsibilities, fees and limits of liability.

- The complete Terms below still apply.
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the FindMyTrader website, mobile applications and related services (together, the “Platform”).
By accessing the Platform, creating an account, posting a job, contacting a tradesperson or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
2. Who we are
The Platform is operated by FindMyTrader Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17244543 (“FindMyTrader”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
You can contact FindMyTrader at info@findmytrader.co.uk.
3. What FindMyTrader does
FindMyTrader is an online marketplace. It helps customers find and communicate with independent tradespeople and businesses (“Tradespeople”).
Customers may post details of work they need (“Jobs”). Tradespeople may view relevant Jobs, communicate with customers and offer to carry out the work.
FindMyTrader does not itself provide building, plumbing, electrical, decorating, repair or other trade services. Unless we expressly state otherwise, we do not employ the Tradespeople listed on the Platform. We are not a party to any contract entered into between a customer and a Tradesperson.
Any agreement for work is made directly between the customer and the Tradesperson. That includes the scope, price, timing, materials, payment, cancellation and any guarantees.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, and legally capable of entering into a contract, to create an account or use FindMyTrader to arrange work.
You must provide accurate, current and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure, and for activity carried out through your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, you must tell us as soon as you can at info@findmytrader.co.uk.
You must not create an account using another person’s identity. You must not provide misleading information, or create multiple accounts to avoid restrictions.
5. Customer responsibilities
If you post a Job or contact a Tradesperson, you must:
- describe the requested work honestly and with reasonable accuracy;
- provide information reasonably needed for a Tradesperson to assess the Job;
- ensure that you have authority to arrange work at the relevant property;
- disclose known risks or conditions that may affect the work;
- communicate respectfully and not post unlawful, discriminatory or abusive content; and
- independently assess whether a Tradesperson is suitable before appointing them.
Your contact details are not displayed publicly. Limited customer details may be shown only to relevant Tradespeople who are matched with, invited to, or permitted to respond to your Job.
Posting a Job does not oblige you to appoint a Tradesperson. You are responsible for agreeing all important details in writing with your chosen Tradesperson before work begins.
6. Tradesperson responsibilities
If you register as a Tradesperson, you confirm that:
- all profile, identity, business, qualification, insurance and experience information you provide is accurate and not misleading;
- you have the legal right, competence, permissions, registrations and licences required to offer and perform your services;
- you will maintain any insurance reasonably required for your work;
- you will comply with applicable health and safety, consumer protection, tax and industry requirements;
- quotes and communications will be clear, honest and professional;
- you will use customer details only for the relevant Job, and you will not use them for unrelated marketing or share them without permission; and
- you are responsible for the quality, safety, legality and completion of any work you agree to perform.
Customer contact details are not displayed publicly. We may show relevant job information and limited customer details only to Tradespeople who are matched with, invited to, or permitted to respond to the customer’s Job. Those details must be used only for that Job.
Tradespeople act as independent businesses or self-employed individuals. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, worker, agency, partnership or joint-venture relationship between a Tradesperson and FindMyTrader.
7. Checks and verification badges
We may allow Tradespeople to submit identity documents, insurance documents, qualifications or other evidence for review.
Where a verification badge is displayed, it means only that we reviewed the specified information using the process described on the Platform at the time of the check.
A badge is not a guarantee of a Tradesperson’s identity, honesty, competence, financial position, availability, work quality or ongoing compliance. Documents and circumstances can change or expire. Customers should carry out their own checks and ask to see current documents where relevant.
No verification badge may be displayed merely because a document was uploaded. Badges must only be activated after an authorised administrator has completed the applicable review.
8. Quotes, appointments and contracts
Quotes, estimates, messages and availability information are supplied by users, not by FindMyTrader. Customers and Tradespeople are responsible for confirming:
- the exact scope of work;
- whether a price is fixed or estimated;
- materials and additional costs;
- start and completion dates;
- payment stages and methods;
- cancellation rights;
- warranties, guarantees and aftercare; and
- responsibility for permits, inspections or approvals.
FindMyTrader is not responsible for negotiating, supervising, inspecting or enforcing an agreement between users.
9. Reviews
Where reviews are enabled, reviews must reflect a genuine experience. They must be fair, accurate and lawful.
Reviews must not contain threats, discrimination, personal data that should not be public, fabricated claims, or content posted in exchange for an undisclosed reward.
We may moderate, reject or remove a review where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms, is unrelated to a genuine interaction, creates a legal risk, or affects the safety or integrity of the Platform. We are not required to resolve every disagreement about a review.
10. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Platform for fraud, deception or any unlawful purpose;
- post false, duplicate, test or non-existent Jobs as genuine Jobs;
- scrape, harvest, sell or misuse user information;
- introduce malware or interfere with the security or operation of the Platform;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against another person;
- copy or exploit the Platform or its content without permission;
- manipulate reviews, verification checks or Platform activity; or
- use contact details obtained through the Platform for unrelated advertising, marketing or spam, or share them without permission.
11. User content
You retain ownership of text, photographs, documents and other content you submit.
You give FindMyTrader a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display, resize and use that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote and improve the Platform.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content, and that it does not infringe another person’s rights. You must not upload confidential documents or personal information unless the Platform specifically requests them through an appropriate secure process.
12. Fees and paid leads
Customers do not pay FindMyTrader to post a Job. FindMyTrader does not collect, hold or transfer payments for trade work on behalf of Tradespeople. Any payment for the work itself is arranged directly between the customer and the Tradesperson.
Until paid leads are enabled, Tradespeople can register, create a profile and access matching Job contact details without paying FindMyTrader. No payment card is required for that free mode, and FindMyTrader will not charge a payment method without the user’s authorisation.
When paid leads are enabled, a Tradesperson pays a tiered GBP platform fee through Stripe Checkout to unlock the customer’s name, phone number and email for one matching Job. The fee is based on the server-validated job cost estimate for that Job (or the default fee when no valid estimate exists). That fee is paid to FindMyTrader for access to the lead. It is not a payment to the customer, not a payment for the trade work, and not money collected or transferred on behalf of a Tradesperson.
The unlock price for that Job is shown before checkout. Customer name, phone number and email are released only after Stripe confirms the payment. Returning from a browser redirect is not treated as proof of payment. Additional terms may be presented before purchase.
13. Cancellations, disputes and complaints
Disputes about work, payment, damage, delay, cancellation or quality are primarily matters between the customer and the Tradesperson.
We may, at our discretion, provide communication records or a reporting process where lawful and appropriate. We do not act as a court, arbitrator, insurer or guarantor.
Nothing in these Terms removes statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights.
Complaints about the Platform may be sent to info@findmytrader.co.uk. Please include your account email, relevant Job details and a clear description of the issue.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time. You may request account deletion through the available account controls or by contacting us.
We may restrict, suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe that the user:
- breached these Terms;
- created a safety, fraud, legal or security risk;
- repeatedly received credible complaints;
- misused personal information; or
- interfered with the proper operation of the Platform.
Where appropriate, we may preserve information needed for legal claims, fraud prevention, safeguarding, regulatory duties, or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal rights.
15. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Platform available and accurate. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may maintain, modify, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Platform, law, security or business operations. The latest version will be published with an updated effective date. Where a change materially affects registered users, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice.
16. Our responsibility
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to the above, FindMyTrader is not responsible for:
- the acts, omissions, statements, work or conduct of customers or Tradespeople;
- the quality, safety, legality, price or completion of trade services;
- loss or damage arising from a contract made directly between users;
- inaccurate information supplied by a user; or
- loss caused by events outside our reasonable control.
If you use the Platform for business purposes, we will not be liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, data or goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Intellectual property
The Platform, brand, logo, software, layout and content supplied by FindMyTrader are owned by or licensed to FindMyTrader Ltd. They are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may use the Platform only for its intended purpose. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit our intellectual property without written permission.
18. Privacy
Your privacy and safety matter to FindMyTrader. Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described there.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory right to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where you live. If you use the Platform for business purposes, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law requires otherwise.
